Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, from Adi ibn Thabit, who said: I heard al-Bara' ibn Azib narrate that he heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him—or he said, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him—that he said concerning the Ansar, "No one loves them except a believer, and no one hates them except a hypocrite. Whoever loves them, Allah loves him, and whoever hates them, Allah hates him." He said: I said to him, "Did you hear this from al-Bara' yourself?" He said, "He narrated it to me personally."
