حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ قَالَ صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ سِتَّةَ عَشَرَ شَهْرًا أَوْ سَبْعَةَ عَشَرَ شَهْرًا شَكَّ سُفْيَانُ ثُمَّ صُرِفْنَا قِبَلَ الْكَعْبَةِ.

Yahya told us, from Sufyan: Abu Ishaq told me, he said: I heard al-Bara' say: We prayed with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, facing Jerusalem for sixteen months, or seventeen months—Sufyan was unsure—then we were turned toward the Ka'bah.
