حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ ذَرٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ عَنْ يُسَيْعٍ عَنْ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ هُوَ الْعِبَادَةُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ { وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمْ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ }.

Waki' told us: al-A'mash told us, from Dharr al-Hamdani, from Yusay', from al-Nu'man b. Bashir, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, supplication is worship." Then he recited: {And your Lord says: Call upon Me, I will respond to you.}
