الترجمة الإنجليزية
It was narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ja'far, who said: it was narrated to us by Shu'bah — and it was also narrated to us by Yazid, who said: it was reported to us by Shu'bah — from Amr ibn Murrah, who said: I heard Abdullah ibn Salamah narrating from Safwan ibn Assal — Yazid said "al-Muradi" — who said: A Jew said to his companion, "Take us to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him" — Yazid said, "to this prophet, peace and blessings be upon him" — "so that we may ask him about this verse: {And indeed We gave Moses nine clear signs}." He said, "Do not call him a prophet, for if he hears you say that, he will grow four eyes." So the two of them asked him, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Do not associate anything with Allah, do not steal, do not commit adultery, do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden except by right, do not practice sorcery, do not consume usury, do not walk with an innocent man to a ruler so that he may be killed, and do not accuse a chaste woman of unchastity" — or he said, "do not flee from the battle line," Shu'bah being uncertain — "and upon you, O Jews, in particular, is that you must not transgress" — Yazid said, "transgress on the Sabbath." So the two of them kissed his hand and his foot — Yazid said, "his hands and his feet" — and said, "We bear witness that you are a prophet." He said, "Then what prevents you from following me?" They said, "David, peace be upon him, prayed that prophethood would never cease from among his descendants, and we fear" — Yazid said, "if we become Muslims, that the Jews will kill us."
