Ibn Numayr told us, Abd al-Malik told us, from Ata', from Ya'la ibn Umayyah, that he was with Umar on a journey, and he asked Umar to let him see the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when revelation was sent down to him. While the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was on a journey, with a covering shielding him from the sun, a man came to him wearing a cloak with a mark of saffron on it, and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have entered ihram for umrah, and the people are mocking me; what should I do?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was silent and did not answer him. While he was like that, Umar gestured to me with his hand, so I put my head in with them under the covering, and there was the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with his cheeks flushed red, breathing heavily for a while, then it was lifted from him. He sat up and said, "Where is the one who asked about umrah?" The man stood up before him, and he said, "Take off this cloak of yours, and whatever you would do in your Hajj when you enter ihram, do it in your umrah."
