حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُمَيْرٍ عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ ابْنِ شُفْعَةَ قَالَ وَقَعَ الطَّاعُونُ فَقَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ إِنَّهُ رِجْسٌ فَتَفَرَّقُوا عَنْهُ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ شُرَحْبِيلَ ابْنَ حَسَنَةَ فَقَالَ لَقَدْ صَحِبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَمْرٌو أَضَلُّ مِنْ بَعِيرِ أَهْلِهِ إِنَّهُ دَعْوَةُ نَبِيِّكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ رَبِّكُمْ وَمَوْتُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَاجْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا عَنْهُ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, Shu'bah told us, from Yazid ibn Khumayr, from Shurahbil ibn Shuf'ah who said: The plague broke out, and Amr ibn al-'As said: It is a scourge, so they scattered from it. That reached Shurahbil ibn Hasanah, so he said: I indeed accompanied the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while Amr is more astray than his own family's camel. It is a supplication of your Prophet, a mercy from your Lord, and the death of the righteous before you - so gather together for it and do not scatter from it. That reached Amr ibn al-'As, and he said: He has spoken the truth.
