Affan told us, Shu'bah told us, from Yazid ibn Khumayr, from Abdullah ibn Busr, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to my father and stayed with him, or my father said to him, 'Stay with me.' So he brought him food, haysah, and sawiq, and he ate it. He used to eat dates and discard the pits, showing with his index and middle fingers how he would throw them from his mouth using the backs of the two fingers. Then he was brought a drink and he drank, then he handed it to the one on his right. Then he stood up and took hold of the bridle of his mount, and my father said: 'Pray to Allah, Mighty and Sublime, for me.' So he said: 'O Allah, bless them in what You have provided them, forgive them, and have mercy on them.'
