حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ أَبْصَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ.

Yunus told us, Aban told us, from Yahya - meaning Ibn Abi Kathir - who said: Abu Salamah ibn Abdul Rahman told me, from Ja'far ibn Amr ibn Umayyah, that his father told him that he saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, wipe over his socks (khuffs).
