حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي قَبِيلٍ قَالَ لَمْ أَسْمَعْ مِنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ إِلَّا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ هَلَاكُ أُمَّتِي فِي الْكِتَابِ وَاللَّبَنِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا الْكِتَابُ وَاللَّبَنُ قَالَ يَتَعَلَّمُونَ الْقُرْآنَ فَيَتَأَوَّلُونَهُ عَلَى غَيْرِ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَيُحِبُّونَ اللَّبَنَ فَيَدَعُونَ الْجَمَاعَاتِ وَالْجُمَعَ وَيَبْدُونَ.

Abu Abd al-Rahman told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Abu Qabil, who said: I did not hear from Uqbah ibn Amir except this one hadith. Ibn Lahi'ah said: And Yazid ibn Abi Habib also told it to me, from Abu al-Khayr, from Uqbah ibn Amir al-Juhani, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: The destruction of my nation will be in the Book and in milk. They said: O Messenger of Allah, what is the Book and the milk? He said: They will learn the Qur'an but interpret it other than as Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed it, and they will love milk (pastoral life) and so abandon the congregational prayers and the Friday prayers, and go out into the countryside.
