حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا قَبَاثُ بْنُ رَزِينٍ اللَّخْمِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ رَبَاحٍ اللَّخْمِيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ يَقُولُ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ نَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا فَرَدَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ ثُمَّ قَالَ تَعَلَّمُوا كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَاقْتَنُوهُ قَالَ وَحَسِبْتُهُ قَالَ وَتَغَنُّوا بِهِ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَلُّتًا مِنْ الْمَخَاضِ مِنْ الْعُقُلِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
'Abdullah ibn Yazid narrated to us, Qabath ibn Razin al-Lakhmi narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Ali ibn Rabah al-Lakhmi say: I heard 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir al-Juhani say: We were sitting in the mosque reciting the Qur'an, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, entered and greeted us, and we returned the greeting to him. Then he said, "Learn the Book of Allah and acquire it" - he said, and I think he said, "and recite it melodiously, for by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, it is more prone to slip away than a she-camel from its hobbles."
