حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْمِنْهَالِ سَمِعَ إِيَاسَ بْنَ عَبْدٍ الْمُزَنِيَّ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَبِيعُوا الْمَاءَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمَاءِ لَا يَدْرِي عَمْرٌو أَيَّ مَاءٍ هُوَ.

Sufyan narrated to us, from Amr, who said: Abu al-Minhal informed me, who heard Iyas b. Abd al-Muzani, who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), say: "Do not sell water, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbid the sale of water" - Amr does not know which water it was.
