Muhammad ibn Abi Adi narrated to us: Husayn, meaning al-Mu'allim, narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Buraida, from Bushayr ibn Ka'b, from Shaddad ibn Aws, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The master of seeking forgiveness is: O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I hold to Your covenant and Your promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge before You Your blessing upon me, and I acknowledge before You my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You. He said: Whoever says it in the morning, having firm faith in it, and dies that day, will be among the people of Paradise; and whoever says it in the evening, having firm faith in it, and dies that night, will be among the people of Paradise. Abd al-Samad narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to us: Husayn narrated to us, from Ibn Buraida, who said: Bushayr ibn Ka'b al-Adawi narrated to me, that Shaddad ibn Aws narrated to him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The master of seeking forgiveness - and he mentioned the hadith.
