Ibn Numayr narrated to us, he said: al-A'mash narrated to us, from Shaqiq, from Abu Mas'ud, from a man of the Ansar known as Abu Shu'ayb, who said: I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and I recognized hunger on his face. So I went to a young butcher-servant of mine and ordered him to prepare us food for five men. He said: Then I invited the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, as the fifth of five, and a man followed them. When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, reached the door, he said, "This man has followed us; if you wish you may permit him, otherwise he will go back." So he gave him permission. Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Sufyan informed us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Amr al-Shaybani, from Abu Mas'ud, who said: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "My mount has broken down" - meaning it had failed him - "so carry me," and he mentioned the hadith.
