Arim ibn al-Fadl told us, saying: Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak told us, from Ibrahim ibn Abi Ablah, from al-Gharif ibn Ayyash, from Wathilah ibn al-Asqa', who said: Some people from the Banu Sulaym came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "A companion of ours has become liable (for a major sin/expiation)." He said: "Let him free a slave; Allah will ransom, for every limb of it, a limb of him from the Fire."
