Abu al-Mughirah told us: Safwan told us: The elders told me that they attended Ghudayf ibn al-Harith al-Thumali when his death agony grew intense, and he said: "Is there anyone among you who can recite Ya-Sin?" So Salih ibn Shurayh al-Sakuni recited it, and when he reached its fortieth (verse), he passed away. The elders used to say: "When it is recited at the side of the dying, it eases things for him." Safwan said: "And Isa ibn al-Mu'tamir recited it at the side of Ibn Ma'bad."
