حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَخْطُبُ فِي ظِلِّ الْكَعْبَةِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ حُلِيِّ الذَّهَبِ وَلُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ.

Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr narrated to us: 'Umar ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: 'Ali ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Ali informed me: my father informed me that he heard Mu'awiya delivering a sermon in the shade of the Ka'ba, saying: 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade gold jewelry and wearing silk.'
