حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيَّ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ شَمْسٍ قَالَ أَبِي وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ وَحَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِمَكَّةَ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لُبْسِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْحَرِيرِ.

Rawh narrated to us: 'Umar ibn Sa'id ibn Abi Husayn said: A man from Banu 'Abd Shams narrated to me - my father said, and 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith - and 'Umar ibn Sa'id narrated to me that 'Ali ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Ali informed him, from his father, who said: I heard Mu'awiya on the pulpit at Mecca say: 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade wearing gold and silk.'
