قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَزْهَرَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَخَلَّلُ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ مَنْزِلِ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ فَأُتِيَ بِسَكْرَانَ فَأَمَرَ مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ أَنْ يَضْرِبُوهُ بِمَا كَانَ فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ.

He said: Zayd ibn al-Hubab told us, he said: Usamah ibn Zayd told me, he said: al-Zuhri told me, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Azhar, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, threading through the people on the day of Hunayn, asking about the dwelling of Khalid ibn al-Walid, and a drunken man was brought, so he ordered those who were with him to strike him with whatever was in their hands.
