He said: Affan told us, he said: Hammad ibn Salamah told us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, from Abdullah ibn Mughaffal, that a man met a woman who had been a prostitute in the Age of Ignorance, and he began to play with her until he stretched out his hand toward her. The woman said: Stop, for Allah, Mighty and Sublime, has taken away polytheism - and Affan once said: has taken away the Age of Ignorance and brought us Islam. So the man turned away and his face struck the wall and was gashed. Then he came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and told him. He said: You are a servant whom Allah intended good for; when Allah, Mighty and Sublime, intends good for a servant, He hastens the punishment of his sin in this world, and when He intends evil for a servant, He withholds it from him because of his sin until he is repaid in full on the Day of Resurrection, like a wild donkey.
