حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي كَهْمَسٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْخَذْفِ وَقَالَ إِنَّهَا لَا يُنْكَأُ بِهَا عَدُوٌّ وَلَا يُصَادُ بِهَا صَيْدٌ.

Waki' told us, he said: Kahmas told me, from Abdullah ibn Buraydah, from Ibn Mughaffal, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade throwing pebbles with the fingers, and said: It does not wound an enemy nor does it catch game.
