حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي عَبْد اللَّهِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَذَهَبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِحَاجَتِهِ فَأَدْرَكَهُمْ وَقْتُ الصَّلَاةِ فَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ فَتَقَدَّمَهُمْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى مَعَ النَّاسِ خَلْفَهُ رَكْعَةً فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ أَصَبْتُمْ أَوْ أَحْسَنْتُمْ.

Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf was with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on a journey. The Prophet went to relieve himself, and the time for prayer came. They established the prayer and Abd al-Rahman led them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) came and prayed one rak'ah behind him with the people. When Abd al-Rahman gave the taslim, the Prophet said: 'You did well' — or: 'You did right.'
