قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ بَعْضَ إِخْوَتِي عَنْ أَبِي عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ أَنَّهُ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي فِدَاءِ بَدْرٍ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ فِي فِدَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَمَا أَسْلَمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَدَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ فَقَرَأَ بِالطُّورِ فَكَأَنَّمَا صُدِعَ عَنْ قَلْبِي حِينَ سَمِعْتُ الْقُرْآنَ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ فَكَأَنَّمَا صُدِعَ قَلْبِي حَيْثُ سَمِعْتُ الْقُرْآنَ.

He said: Affan and Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, they said: Shu'bah told us, from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim, who said: I heard one of my brothers narrate, from my father, from Jubayr ibn Mut'im, that he came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding the ransom of Badr - Ibn Ja'far said: regarding the ransom of the polytheists, and he had not yet become Muslim at that time - he said: I entered the mosque while the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was praying the sunset prayer, and he recited Surat al-Tur, and it was as though my heart was split open when I heard the Qur'an - Ibn Ja'far said: it was as though my heart was split open when I heard the Qur'an.
