قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْد اللَّهِ بْن أَحْمَد وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا ثَلَاثًا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا ثَلَاثًا سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا ثَلَاثًا اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ مِنْ هَمْزِهِ وَنَفْثِهِ وَنَفْخِهِ قَالَ حُصَيْنٌ هَمْزُهُ الْمُوتَةُ الَّتِي تَأْخُذُ صَاحِبَ الْمَسِّ وَنَفْثُهُ الشِّعْرُ وَنَفْخُهُ الْكِبْرُ.

He said: Abdullah ibn Muhammad told us - Abu Abd al-Rahman Abdullah ibn Ahmad said: and I heard it myself from Abdullah ibn Muhammad - from Abdullah ibn Idris, from Husayn, from Amr ibn Murrah, from Abbad ibn Asim, from Nafi' ibn Jubayr ibn Mut'im, from his father, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when he opened the prayer, say: Allah is greater, most great, three times; praise be to Allah abundantly, three times; glory be to Allah morning and evening, three times; O Allah, I seek refuge in You from Satan, from his madness, his poetic incitement, and his arrogant pride. Husayn said: His madness is the epilepsy that seizes one afflicted; his poetic incitement is poetry; and his arrogant pride is pride.
