حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ نُفَيْلِ بْنِ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَكَّةَ هُوَ وَزَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ فَمَرَّ بِهِمَا زَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ فَدَعَوَاهُ إِلَى سُفْرَةٍ لَهُمَا فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي إِنِّي لَا آكُلُ مِمَّا ذُبِحَ عَلَى النُّصُبِ قَالَ فَمَا رُئِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ أَكَلَ شَيْئًا مِمَّا ذُبِحَ عَلَى النُّصُبِ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَبِي كَانَ كَمَا قَدْ رَأَيْتَ وَبَلَغَكَ وَلَوْ أَدْرَكَكَ لَآمَنَ بِكَ وَاتَّبَعَكَ فَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُ فَإِنَّهُ يُبْعَثُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was in Makkah with Zayd ibn Harithah. Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl passed by them, and they invited him to share their meal. He said: 'O nephew, I do not eat what is slaughtered on the altars (of idols).' The Prophet (peace be upon him) was never seen after that eating anything that had been slaughtered on the altars. Sa'id said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my father was as you saw and knew. Had he lived to see you, he would have believed in you and followed you. So seek forgiveness for him.' He said: 'Yes, I shall seek forgiveness for him, for he will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection as a nation unto himself.'
