قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ مِنْ بَنِي مَالِكِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسُوقِ ذِي الْمَجَازِ يَتَخَلَّلُهَا يَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قُولُوا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ تُفْلِحُوا قَالَ وَأَبُو جَهْلٍ يَحْثِي عَلَيْهِ التُّرَابَ وَيَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَا يَغُرَّنَّكُمْ هَذَا عَنْ دِينِكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ لِتَتْرُكُوا آلِهَتَكُمْ وَتَتْرُكُوا اللَّاتَ وَالْعُزَّى قَالَ وَمَا يَلْتَفِتُ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قُلْنَا انْعَتْ لَنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ بَيْنَ بُرْدَيْنِ أَحْمَرَيْنِ مَرْبُوعٌ كَثِيرُ اللَّحْمِ حَسَنُ الْوَجْهِ شَدِيدُ سَوَادِ الشَّعْرِ أَبْيَضُ شَدِيدُ الْبَيَاضِ سَابِغُ الشَّعْرِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
He said: Abu al-Nadr told us, he said: Shayban told us, from Ash'ath, who said: An old man from Banu Malik ibn Kinanah told me, saying: I saw the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, at the market of Dhu al-Majaz, moving through it saying, "O people, say 'There is no god but God,' and you will succeed." He said: And Abu Jahl was throwing dust at him, saying, "O people, do not let this man deceive you away from your religion; he only wants you to abandon your gods and abandon al-Lat and al-Uzza." He said: And the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, paid no attention to him. He said: We said, "Describe the Messenger of God to us." He said: "[Wearing] two red garments, of moderate build, with abundant flesh, handsome of face, intensely black of hair, [with a complexion] white, intensely white, with flowing hair."
