قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ بَيَّتْنَا هَوَازِنَ مَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ وَكَانَ أَمَّرَهُ عَلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

He said: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, who said: 'Ikrimah ibn 'Ammar narrated to us, from Iyas ibn Salamah, from his father, who said: We made a night raid on Hawazin with Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, whom the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had placed in command over us.
