حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ صَخْرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ كُنْتُ امْرَأً قَدْ أُوتِيتُ مِنْ جِمَاعِ النِّسَاءِ مَا لَمْ يُؤْتَ غَيْرِي فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ رَمَضَانُ تَظَاهَرْتُ مِنْ امْرَأَتِي حَتَّى يَنْسَلِخَ رَمَضَانُ فَرَقًا مِنْ أَنْ أُصِيبَ فِي لَيْلَتِي شَيْئًا فَأَتَتَابَعُ فِي ذَلِكَ إِلَى أَنْ يُدْرِكَنِي النَّهَارُ وَأَنَا لَا أَقْدِرُ عَلَى أَنْ أَنْزِعَ فَبَيْنَا هِيَ تَخْدُمُنِي إِذْ تَكَشَّفَ لِي مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ فَوَثَبْتُ عَلَيْهَا فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْتُ غَدَوْتُ عَلَى قَوْمِي فَأَخْبَرْتُهُمْ خَبَرِي وَقُلْتُ لَهُمْ انْطَلِقُوا مَعِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأُخْبِرُهُ بِأَمْرِي فَقَالُوا لَا وَاللَّهِ لَا نَفْعَلُ نَتَخَوَّفُ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ فِينَا قُرْآنٌ أَوْ يَقُولَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَقَالَةً يَبْقَى عَلَيْنَا عَارُهَا وَلَكِنْ اذْهَبْ أَنْتَ فَاصْنَعْ مَا بَدَا لَكَ قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ خَبَرِي فَقَالَ لِي أَنْتَ بِذَاكَ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا بِذَاكَ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ بِذَاكَ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا بِذَاكَ قَالَ أَنْتَ بِذَاكَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ هَا أَنَا ذَا فَأَمْضِ فِيَّ حُكْمَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَإِنِّي صَابِرٌ لَهُ قَالَ أَعْتِقْ رَقَبَةً قَالَ فَضَرَبْتُ صَفْحَةَ رَقَبَتِي بِيَدِي وَقُلْتُ لَا وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا أَصْبَحْتُ أَمْلِكُ غَيْرَهَا قَالَ فَصُمْ شَهْرَيْنِ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَهَلْ أَصَابَنِي مَا أَصَابَنِي إِلَّا فِي الصِّيَامِ قَالَ فَتَصَدَّقْ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَقَدْ بِتْنَا لَيْلَتَنَا هَذِهِ وَحْشَاءَ مَا لَنَا عَشَاءٌ قَالَ اذْهَبْ إِلَى صَاحِبِ صَدَقَةِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ فَقُلْ لَهُ فَلْيَدْفَعْهَا إِلَيْكَ فَأَطْعِمْ عَنْكَ مِنْهَا وَسْقًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا ثُمَّ اسْتَعِنْ بِسَائِرِهِ عَلَيْكِ وَعَلَى عِيَالِكَ قَالَ فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى قَوْمِي فَقُلْتُ وَجَدْتُ عِنْدَكُمْ الضِّيقَ وَسُوءَ الرَّأْيِ وَوَجَدْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ السَّعَةَ وَالْبَرَكَةَ قَدْ أَمَرَ لِي بِصَدَقَتِكُمْ فَادْفَعُوهَا لِي قَالَ فَدَفَعُوهَا إِلَيَّ.

Yazid ibn Harun told us: Muhammad ibn Ishaq informed us, from Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Ata', from Sulayman ibn Yasar, from Salama ibn Sakhr al-Ansari, who said: I was a man granted, in the matter of intercourse with women, what no one else was granted. When Ramadan arrived, I made zihar from my wife until Ramadan should end, fearing that I might do something in the night that would make me continue in that until morning caught me while I was unable to withdraw. While she was serving me, something of her became uncovered to me, so I fell upon her. When morning came, I went to my people and told them my story, and said to them: "Come with me to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so I may inform him of my affair." They said: "No, by Allah, we will not, fearing that a Qur'an would be revealed about us, or the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would say something about us whose disgrace would remain upon us; but go yourself and do as you see fit." He said: So I went out and came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and told him my story. He said to me: "Is it you who did that?" I said: "It is I who did that." He said: "Is it you who did that?" I said: "It is I who did that." He said: "Is it you who did that?" I said: "Yes, here I am - carry out upon me the judgment of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, for I am patient with it." He said: "Free a slave." He said: So I struck the side of my neck with my hand and said: "No, by the One who sent you with the truth, I do not own anything besides it." He said: "Then fast two months." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, did what befell me befall me except regarding fasting?" He said: "Then give charity." I said: "By the One who sent you with the truth, we spent this night of ours in hunger, having no evening meal." He said: "Go to the collector of the charity of Banu Zurayq and tell him to hand it over to you, then feed sixty poor people with a wasq of dates from it, then use the rest of it for yourself and your family." He said: So I returned to my people and said: "I found with you narrowness and poor judgment, and I found with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, abundance and blessing. He has ordered your charity to be given to me, so hand it over to me." He said: So they gave it to me.
