قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بِلَالٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحَدَّثُونِي أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُصَلُّونَ الْمَغْرِبَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ يَنْطَلِقُونَ يَتَرَامَوْنَ لَا يَخْفَى عَلَيْهِمْ مَوَاقِعُ سِهَامِهِمْ حَتَّى يَأْتُونَ دِيَارَهُمْ فِي أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ.

He said: Affan told us: Abu Awana told us: Abu Bishr told us, from Ali ibn Bilal al-Laythi, who said: I prayed with a group of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and they told me that they used to pray Maghrib with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, then set off shooting arrows at each other, the places their arrows landed not hidden from them, until they reached their homes at the far end of Medina.
