قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَ قُتِلَ أَبِي يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ احْفِرُوا وَوَسِّعُوا وَأَحْسِنُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ فِي الْقَبْرِ وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا فَكَانَ أَبِي ثَالِثَ ثَلَاثَةٍ وَكَانَ أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا فَقُدِّمَ.

He said: 'Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ma'mar told us, from Ayyub, from Humayd ibn Hilal, who said: Hisham ibn 'Amir informed us, saying: My father was killed on the Day of Uhud, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Dig graves, make them wide, do well, and bury two or three men in one grave, putting forward whichever of them has the most Qur'an. My father was the third of three men, and he had the most Qur'an of them, so he was put forward.
