قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِالنُّعَيْمَانِ أَوْ ابْنِ النُّعَيْمَانِ وَهُوَ سَكْرَانُ قَالَ فَاشْتَدَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَمَرَ مَنْ فِي الْبَيْتِ أَنْ يَضْرِبُوهُ فَضَرَبُوهُ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ فَشَقَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَشَقَّةً شَدِيدَةً قَالَ عُقْبَةُ فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ ضَرَبَهُ.

He said: Sulayman ibn Harb and 'Affan told us, they said: Wuhayb ibn Khalid told us - 'Affan said in his narration: he said: Ayyub told us, from 'Abdullah ibn Abi Mulaykah, from 'Uqbah ibn al-Harith: that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was brought al-Nu'ayman, or the son of al-Nu'ayman, while he was drunk. He said: This was hard for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he ordered those who were in the house to strike him, and they struck him. 'Affan said in his narration: it distressed the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, greatly. 'Uqbah said: I was among those who struck him.
