Hajjaj told us: Layth told us, saying: Uqayl told me, from Ibn Shihab, from Ibn Ka'b ibn Malik - one of the three whose repentance was accepted - that Ka'b ibn Malik said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, whenever he returned from a journey, would begin at the mosque, praying two rak'ahs there, then would give the greeting of peace and sit in his place of prayer, and the people would come to him and greet him with peace.
