حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ أَنَّ صَفْوَانَ بْنَ مَوْهَبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَمْ يَأْتِنِي أَوَلَمْ يَبْلُغْنِي أَوْ كَمَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَنَّكَ تَبِيعُ الطَّعَامَ قَالَ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَا تَبِعْ طَعَامًا حَتَّى تَشْتَرِيَهُ وَتَسْتَوْفِيَهُ قَالَ عَطَاءٌ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَيْضًا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَصْمَةَ الْجُشَمِيُّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ حَكِيمَ بْنَ حِزَامٍ يُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Rawh told us, Ibn Jurayj told us: Ata informed me, that Safwan ibn Mawhab informed him, from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Sayfi, from Hakim ibn Hizam, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me, "Has it not reached me," or "has it not come to me," or as Allah willed of that, "that you sell food?" He said, "Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah." So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Then do not sell food until you have bought it and taken full possession of it." Ata said: Abdullah ibn Asmah al-Jushami also informed me that he heard Hakim ibn Hizam narrate this from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
