الترجمة الإنجليزية
Husayn ibn Muhammad told us, Sulayman — that is, Ibn Qarm — told us, from Simak, from Humayd, the nephew of Safwan ibn Umayyah, from Safwan ibn Umayyah, who said: I was sleeping in the mosque on a cloak of mine, and it was stolen. We caught the thief and brought him up before the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he ordered that his hand be cut off. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, is it for a cloak worth thirty dirhams? I will give it to him as a gift, or sell it to him." He said, "Then why was this not done before you brought him to me?"
