Kathir ibn Hisham told us, from Hisham, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade eating onions and leeks, but need overcame us and we ate some of it. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Whoever eats from this malodorous plant, let him not come near our mosque, for the angels are troubled by what troubles mankind."
