حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ وُلِدَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ غُلَامٌ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُسَمِّيَهُ مُحَمَّدًا فَانْطَلَقَ بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلُوهُ فَقَالَ سَمُّوا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي فَإِنِّي بُعِثْتُ قَاسِمًا أَقْسِمُ بَيْنَكُمْ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, Shu'bah told us, from Husayn, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: A boy was born to a man from the Helpers, and he wanted to name him Muhammad. He took him to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and they asked him about it. He said: Name yourselves after me, but do not take my kunyah as your own, for I have been sent as a distributor who distributes among you.
