حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو عَنْ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ الْأَضْحَى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمُصَلَّى فَلَمَّا قَضَى خُطْبَتَهُ أَتَى بِكَبْشٍ فَذَبَحَهُ بِيَدِهِ وَقَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبِاللَّهِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذَا عَنِّي وَعَمَّنْ لَمْ يُضَحِّ مِنْ أُمَّتِي.

Sa'id ibn Mansur told us, Ya'qub ibn Abd al-Rahman told us, from Amr ibn Abi Amr, from al-Muttalib ibn Abdullah, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: I witnessed the Feast of Sacrifice with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, at the prayer ground. When he finished his sermon, a ram was brought and he slaughtered it with his own hand, saying: In the name of Allah, and by Allah. O Allah, this is on behalf of me and on behalf of whoever from my nation did not offer a sacrifice.
