حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ جَابِرًا عَنْ خَادِمِ الرَّجُلِ إِذَا كَفَاهُ الْمَشَقَّةَ وَالْحَرَّ فَقَالَ أَمَرَنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَدْعُوَهُ فَإِنْ كَرِهَ أَحَدٌ أَنْ يَطْعَمَ مَعَهُ فَلْيُطْعِمْهُ أُكْلَةً فِي يَدِهِ.

Musa told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Abu al-Zubayr, that he asked Jabir about a man's servant, when he spares him hardship and heat. He said: the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded us to invite him to eat, but if one dislikes eating with him, let him give him a mouthful in his hand.
