Hajjaj told us, Ibn Jurayj said: Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir being asked whether the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had taken the pledge of allegiance at Dhu al-Hulayfah. He said: "No, but he prayed there, and he did not take the pledge at the Tree except the tree of al-Hudaybiyah." And he informed us that he heard Jabir invoke [God] at the well of al-Hudaybiyah.
