حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كُنَّا نَتَمَتَّعُ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَذْبَحُ الْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ نَشْتَرِكُ فِيهَا.

Hushaym told us, Abd al-Malik informed us, from Ata', from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: We used to perform tamattu' (combining Umrah and Hajj) in the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, slaughtering a cow on behalf of seven people, sharing in it.
