When this verse was revealed: 'You will never attain righteousness until you spend of what you love' (3:92), Abu Talhah came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the most beloved of my wealth to me is Bayruha (his garden). I give it as charity for the sake of Allah, hoping for its reward with Allah. So dispose of it, O Messenger of Allah, however Allah shows you.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Excellent! That is profitable wealth. I have heard what you said, and I think you should distribute it among your relatives.' Abu Talhah said: 'I shall do so, O Messenger of Allah.' And he distributed it among his relatives and his cousins.
