Yunus and Surayj told us, they said: Fulayh told us, from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman, that Anas ibn Malik informed him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray the ‘Asr prayer at a time such that a person going to Banu Haritha ibn al-Harith and returning would do so before sunset, and in the time it would take a man to slaughter a camel and cut it into portions before sunset. And he used to pray the Friday prayer when the sun began to decline, and when he went out to Mecca, he would pray Zuhr at al-Shajarah, two rak’ahs.
