حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ وَحَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ الْمَعْنَى عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي فِي رَمَضَانَ فَجِئْتُ فَقُمْتُ خَلْفَهُ قَالَ وَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَقَامَ إِلَى جَنْبِي ثُمَّ جَاءَ آخَرُ حَتَّى كُنَّا رَهْطًا فَلَمَّا أَحَسَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّا خَلْفَهُ تَجَوَّزَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَدَخَلَ مَنْزِلَهُ فَصَلَّى صَلَاةً لَمْ يُصَلِّهَا عِنْدَنَا قَالَ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْنَا قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَفَطِنْتَ بِنَا اللَّيْلَةَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَذَاكَ الَّذِي حَمَلَنِي عَلَى الَّذِي صَنَعْتُ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ يُوَاصِلُ وَذَاكَ فِي آخِرِ الشَّهْرِ قَالَ فَأَخَذَ رِجَالٌ يُوَاصِلُونَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا بَالُ رِجَالٍ يُوَاصِلُونَ إِنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ مِثْلِي أَمَا وَاللَّهِ لَوْ مُدَّ لِي الشَّهْرُ لَوَاصَلْتُ وِصَالًا يَدَعُ الْمُتَعَمِّقُونَ تَعَمُّقَهُمْ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Bahz and Hajjaj narrated to us: Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah — the meaning being the same — narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray in Ramadan, so I came and stood behind him. He said: Then a man came and stood beside me, then another came, until we were a small group. When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sensed that we were behind him, he shortened the prayer, then stood and entered his house, and prayed a prayer that he had not prayed with us. He said: When we arose the next morning, we said: "O Messenger of Allah, did you notice us last night?" He said: "Yes, and that is what led me to do what I did." He said: Then he began to fast continuously, and that was at the end of the month. He said: So some men among his companions began to fast continuously as well. He said: So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "What is the matter with men who fast continuously? You are not like me. By Allah, were the month extended for me, I would fast continuously in a way that would make those who go to extremes abandon their extremism."
