حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ غُلَامًا يَهُودِيًّا كَانَ يَضَعُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَضُوءَهُ وَيُنَاوِلُهُ نَعْلَيْهِ فَمَرِضَ فَأَتَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ وَأَبُوهُ قَاعِدٌ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا فُلَانُ قُلْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى أَبِيهِ فَسَكَتَ أَبُوهُ فَأَعَادَ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى أَبِيهِ فَقَالَ أَبُوهُ أَطِعْ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ فَقَالَ الْغُلَامُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَخْرَجَهُ بِي مِنْ النَّارِ حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ مِثْلَهُ.

Mu'ammal told us: Hammad told us: Thabit told us, from Anas, that a Jewish boy used to prepare the water for the Prophet's ablution, peace and blessings be upon him, and hand him his sandals. He fell ill, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came to him. He entered upon him while his father was sitting at his head. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him, "O so-and-so, say: there is no god but Allah." The boy looked at his father, and his father remained silent. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, repeated it to him. He looked at his father again, and his father said, "Obey Abu al-Qasim." So the boy said, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that you are the Messenger of Allah." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, went out saying, "Praise be to Allah who saved him from the Fire through me." Mu'ammal told us: Hammad told us: Thabit told us, from Anas, similarly.
