حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُلَاثَةَ حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ وَرْدَانَ الْمَدَنِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الدُّعَاءِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ تَسْأَلُ رَبَّكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ مِنْ الْغَدِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الدُّعَاءِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ تَسْأَلُ رَبَّكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الْيَوْمَ الثَّالِثَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الدُّعَاءِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ تَسْأَلُ رَبَّكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ فَإِنَّكَ إِذَا أُعْطِيتَهُمَا فِي الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ أُعْطِيتَهُمَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ فَقَدْ أَفْلَحْتَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Anas ibn Malik said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, which supplication is best?" He said: "Ask your Lord for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter." The man came the next day and asked: "O Messenger of Allah, which supplication is best?" He said: "Ask your Lord for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter." He came on the third day and asked: "O Messenger of Allah, which supplication is best?" He said: "Ask your Lord for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. For if you are given those in this world and then given those in the Hereafter, you have truly succeeded."
