Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Sufyan, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: Gabriel came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, one day while he was sitting, grieved, stained with blood — some of the people of Makkah had struck him. Gabriel said to him, "What is wrong with you?" He said, "These people did this and that to me." Gabriel, peace be upon him, said to him, "Would you like me to show you a sign?" He said, "Yes." So he looked at a tree beyond the valley and said, "Call that tree." So he called it, and it came walking until it stood before him. He said, "Tell it to go back," so he commanded it, and it returned to its place. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "That is enough for me."
