الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ibn Abi Adiyy narrated to us from Humayd, and Abd Allah ibn Bakr al-Sahmi narrated to us, Humayd narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, visited a sick man from among the Muslims who had become like a fledgling. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him, "Were you supplicating for anything or asking Him for something?" He said, "Yes, I used to say, 'O Allah, whatever You would punish me with in the Hereafter, hasten it for me in this world.'" The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Glory be to Allah! You cannot bear it, nor withstand it. Why did you not say, 'O Allah, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire'?" He said: So he supplicated to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and Allah, Mighty and Majestic, healed him.
