Abd al-Razzaq told us, he said: Ma'mar told us, from al-Zuhri, from Ata' ibn Yazid al-Laythi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade two ways of dressing and two types of sale. As for the two ways of dressing: ishtimal al-samma' - that a man wraps himself in a single garment, placing both its ends over his left shoulder and wrapping his right side with it; and the other is that a man sits with his knees drawn up wrapped in a single garment with nothing else on him, so that his private parts are exposed to the sky. As for the two sales: al-munabadhah and al-mulamasah. Al-munabadhah is that one says, "When I throw this garment, the sale is binding"; and al-mulamasah is that he touches it with his hand without wearing it or turning it over - when he touches it, the sale becomes binding.
