حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ اجْتَمَعَ أُنَاسٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالُوا آثَرَ عَلَيْنَا غَيْرَنَا فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَمَعَهُمْ ثُمَّ خَطَبَهُمْ فَقَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَلَمْ تَكُونُوا أَذِلَّةً فَأَعَزَّكُمْ اللَّهُ قَالُوا صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ قَالَ أَلَمْ تَكُونُوا ضُلَّالًا فَهَدَاكُمْ اللَّهُ قَالُوا صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ قَالَ أَلَمْ تَكُونُوا فُقَرَاءَ فَأَغْنَاكُمْ اللَّهُ قَالُوا صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَلَا تُجِيبُونَنِي أَلَا تَقُولُونَ أَتَيْتَنَا طَرِيدًا فَآوَيْنَاكَ وَأَتَيْتَنَا خَائِفًا فَآمَنَّاكَ أَلَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ النَّاسُ بِالشَّاءِ وَالْبُقْرَانِ يَعْنِي الْبَقَرَ وَتَذْهَبُونَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتُدْخِلُونَهُ بُيُوتَكُمْ لَوْ أَنَّ النَّاسَ سَلَكُوا وَادِيًا أَوْ شُعْبَةً وَسَلَكْتُمْ وَادِيًا أَوْ شُعْبَةً سَلَكْتُ وَادِيَكُمْ أَوْ شُعْبَتَكُمْ لَوْلَا الْهِجْرَةُ لَكُنْتُ امْرَأً مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ وَإِنَّكُمْ سَتَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ibrahim ibn Khalid told us: Rabah told us, from Ma'mar, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: Some people of the Ansar gathered and said, "He has favored others over us." That reached the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so he gathered them and addressed them, saying, "O company of the Ansar, were you not lowly, and Allah gave you might through me? Were you not astray, and Allah guided you through me? Were you not poor, and Allah enriched you through me?" Every time he said something they said, "Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth." Then he said, "Will you not answer me? Will you not say, 'You came to us driven out, and we sheltered you; you came to us fearful, and we gave you security'? Are you not content that the people go away with sheep and cattle, while you go away with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, taking him into your homes? If the people were to travel down one valley or mountain pass, and you traveled down another, I would travel down your valley or pass. Were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been a man of the Ansar. And you will indeed encounter after me a [wrongful] preference [of others over you]; so be patient until you meet me at the Basin."
