Affan told us: Sulayman ibn Kathir told us: al-Zuhri told us, from Ata' - and Affan once said "Ata' ibn Yazid" - from Abu Sa'id, who said: It was asked, "O Messenger of Allah, which of the believers is most excellent?" He said, "A believer who strives in the way of Allah with his life and his wealth." They said, "Then who?" He said, "A believer who withdraws into one of the mountain passes or ravines, sparing people his harm."
