Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, and Abd al-Razzaq — he said: Sufyan informed us — from Zubayd, from Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu al-Bakhtari, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Let none of you belittle himself: when he sees a matter concerning which he ought to speak for the sake of Allah, and he refrains from speaking about it, then on the Day of Resurrection it will be said to him: 'What prevented you from speaking about it?' He will say: 'Lord, I feared the people.' He will say: 'Rather, it is I whom you should have feared more.'" And Abu Nu'aym said, in the hadith: "and I was more deserving that you should have feared Me."
